About The Harwoods
Our family is from all parts of Europe; England, Ireland, and Scotland. After the passing of my mother I decided to concentrate on her Harwood ancestors from Durham and Yorkshire, England. (For photos of Durham, see below or look under PEOPLE then select Stories). Whether it was personal, financial or economic strife, these early pioneers decided, with the offering of free land from Canada, to take a long journey to the unknown. It was in the 1880s that her great grandfather James and his family decided to 'cross-the-pond', as the saying goes, to Manitoba, Canada. This video shows the history of Canada during the late 1800s. See the Stories of Durham, Canada and Cleveland under PEOPLE.

James Harwood's mother, JANE HUTCHINSON, shows her line going back to BARNARD HUTCHINSON, 1232.

FAMOUS PERSONS/SPOUSES of ancestors. Not all are direct line, a few blood relatives, but of notable interest to our history. Incredible stories.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
